Wendy Greenberg, Executive Director
Wendy has been working in the Assisted Living industry since 1995.She has owned three private home assisted living facilities. Wendy holds a duel bachelorâs degree from Northern Arizona University in Elementary and Special Education. With over twenty years of management experience, Wendy has a talent of supporting her staff with the tools they need to be successful while having a caring heart for those she serves. Joining the Austin House Assister Living team in May 2012, Wendy has challenged herself and her staff to giving the most loving, professional, and caring service to our residents. Wendy truly enjoys the unique structure of Austin House which meets the needs of a cross section of our society.
n her off time Wendy appreciates spending time outdoors enjoying all that Northern Arizona has to offer. She is grateful to be a mother to eight young adopted children. Wendy grew up in Central America and Africa before her family settled in Kansas City, MO. She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1982 with her family and has lived in Northern Arizona since 1991.
Diane Leach, Resident Services Coordinator
Diane has been with the Behavior and Assisted Living health industry for over 30 years. Sheâs certified by the State of Arizona as an Assisted Living Manager. Diane has worked for Senior Living Options for over 17 years. She recently relocated to Cottonwood, AZ to take a position of Resident Services Coordinator. She oversees the care provided to the residents on the traditional assisted living unit, as well as the behavior units. Her years of knowledge and experience are helping Austin House to grow and expand in an effective, professional direction.
Diane is originally from Michigan and has been in Arizona since 1994.. She has two grown children who are excelling in their professions.
Sherry Ferguson, Office Manager
Sherry is a very team-oriented person. She has been in the hospitality industry for most of her successful 25 year career, and owned and managed her own restaurant for several years. Three years ago Sherry wanted to get back into the hospitality field and joined Austin House as a cook in the dietary department. With her skills and knowledge she quickly moved up to the front office as the Office Manager. Her wide range of responsibilities are evidence of her depth of knowledge in multiple areas. In addition, she is always willing to help anyone who needs help, employees as well as residents and their families.
Sherry is originally from the Midwest and moved to Arizona in 1998. She and her husband love cooking and gardening.
Erick Cruz, Maintenance Supervisor
Erick has more than 20 years experience in the remodeling and building maintenance field. He has worked in the assisted living industry for over 14 years. Eight of those years have been at Austin House. Erick is easily able to develop relationships with the residents. He readily admits the residents make his job much more enjoyable!
Erick is originally from Guatemala and has been in the Arizona since 1989. Erick reports that he loves his work and finds Austin House to be a great place to work.
Amy Wilcox, Resident Services Coordinator
Amy has been in the Caregiving profession for 20 years. She has experience in large and small facilities. She was also the assistant manager of a small care home for 2 years. Because of her knowledge, dependability, positive attitude, and overall professionalism, she was promoted to the Assisted Living Resident Services Coordinator in the fall of 2011.
Amy has lived in Cottonwood all her life. She has 2 children, both girls, ages 10 and 14.
Sheila Lakin, Activity Director
Sheila has brought her many useful skills and abundant creativity to Austin House as a caring and very competent professional. She has shared her heart through a wide variety of activity experiences for over 15 years. She has worked in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, hospice and home care in both California and Arizona.
Sheila received her Bachelorâs degree at Cal-Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA, and her Masterâs degree in Nutrition Science in 1999. She has the unique ability to blend her experience, education, skills, faith and musical gifting with sincere concern and love for the residents and others around her.
Sheila and her husband, John, moved to the Verde Valley in 2008 after leaving family in Oklahoma and California.
Pat Slusher, Dietary Manager
I began cooking in care homes in 1998 and was training to be a dietary manager in just a few months. I have enjoyed preparing tasty nutritional food for elderly ever since.
I have been specially trained in therapeutic diets and prepare meals accordingly as needed by the residents. My satisfaction is the residents enjoying their meals.
I have been with Austin House for 1 Â½ years now and plan to be here for years to come. I moved to the Verde Valley with my wife and 3 children in 1995 as a Manager in a fast food chain. I am now a proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren.
